GayPornZoom: Hi Nathan, thanks for taking the time to answer our question. Let’s start with Men at Play! How did you get involved in the MAP’s model competition? How do you feel about the result?

Nathan Lewis: Hey guys, firstly thanks for the opportunity to do the interview with you. Entering MAP’s model competition is one of the best and most exciting things I’ve ever done. If it wasn’t for my boyfriend, I most probably wouldn’t have considered it.

One evening he was paging through a gay magazine and saw the advert and suggested that I entered. My jaw nearly hit the ground when he said that. Although I do a bit of erotic modelling work, we’d never really discussed me venturing out and doing porn. Well within minutes, I completed my application and sent it in; I was excited, but also, being bit of a cynic, I didn’t expect much to come from it. However from one round to the next, I moved through to eventually end up as being one of the three finalists. At this point I actually thought there was a chance of me winning. I was over the moon. When the winner was announced, I would be lying if I said I was not gutted that I didn’t win. However on the positive side, I beat hundreds of other contestants which is a massive achievement for me.

GPZ: I have seen pictures from the MAP Relaunch Party, did you have fun? I’m sure a lot of men wanted to put their hands all around you!

Nathan: It was a fantastic evening and the MAP guys put together a fun filled schedule. Well done MAP! I eventually got to meet a lot of people who had sent me e-mails of support throughout the competition. Even people I’d never met before came up to congratulate me and it was amazing that some even flew from the USA to be at the event. Thank you John! However the converse was also true where initially some guys thought they couldn’t approach me, even just to say hello, and preferred to smile from afar, but eventually with a bit of alcohol in all of us, that all changed. What an unforgettable evening.

GPZ: After you have appeared on the MAP site, do you get noticed when you are out?

Nathan: I go out to clubs and pubs once in a while, but I guess I’m bit of a “home body” and don’t expect people to notice me in the local grocery store or when I’m out sitting in a dark movie theatre. However I have been told that people have recognised me at the gym, but I guess they are still too shy to come and say hello. I wish they would.

GPZ: I have seen you are also model for fashion magazines/catalogues, why did you decide to do gay porn? Do you think that your modeling background makes it easier to appear in front of the cameras of porn studios?

Nathan: In my opinion I don’t see why a model should feel that they need to limit the length and breadth of work they do and I still want to do as much as I can. I am still doing general commercial work, but porn is soooo much more fun! I’ve built up a lot of confidence with my modelling background, in particular with the erotic work I’ve done and feel that it has helped me tremendously do my porn work.

GPZ: What do you do besides modelling?

Nathan: I have a regular job as an electrical engineer which, in comparison to porn, seems rather boring, but I keep a strict rule and don’t let the one affect the other. I guess you can say that modelling and porn is my creative side. Everyone needs an outlet of some kind I guess? If I had a choice, I most definitely do modelling and porn full time. That would be amazing!

GPZ: Your body is fantastic, what’s your work out routine?

Nathan: Wow, thanks! I work hard at it and glad it shows, however I’m happy to say that it does not take too much time to maintain, just a bit of commitment. I do fifty minutes of weight training four times a week and twenty minutes of cardio and twenty minutes of ab training twice a week. I train in the morning before work, so I don’t think that fifty minutes out of my daily schedule is too much to ask. I also follow a strict and healthy eating plan six days a week, but on the seventh day all hell breaks loose and I don’t train and eat what ever I like and have as much as I want. I’m a real chocoholic and anything with chocolate gets eaten. One day a week off keeps me sane and my cravings at bay for the following six days of healthy eating and hard training.

GPZ: What turns you on and off?

Nathan: To start with, a bit of good old time romancing and deep hard kissing really gets me hard. I love to rim and when I’m being rimmed it feels like my heads gonna blow off. Wow! That really gets me racing and then after that, like I say, all hell breaks loose. I see MAP have described me as “passive” although I’d say I’m a good “all rounder” (however with a preference to being a bottom),there is most definitely nothing “passive” about me. hehehehe. so get ready to see some buttons popping and suits and shirts being ripped off.

What turns me off? Generally I think gay guys take personal hygiene seriously, but if I had to come across one who doesn’t, I’ll be running the other way or if he was really nice, I’d bring out the wet wipes. hehehehe.

GPZ: What’s an average day in the life like for you?

Nathan: I wish I could make it sound more glamorous and say I get up in the morning, get picked up by limo and taken off to the airport where I fly all over the world for photo shoots and porn, dodging the paparazzi as I go, and then get wined and dined in the evening. Lol.no. I am just your regular guy next door. I’m up at 05H50 and at the gym by 06H30 when they open. After that I’m off to the normal day job, then home in the evening to cook a nice healthy supper, clean up the kitchen, prepare my packages of food for the next day, get all my bags ready for the morning, then catch up with some modelling work. That’s it in a nut shell.

It does get more exciting when I’m out and about on photo shoots, especially when I’m jetting off to many places across the USA, but that’s only once in a while. My last modelling trip in August included New York, Miami, Key West, San Francisco, LA and Dallas. I had so much fun and met so many wonderful people.

GPZ: What’s next for you in the porn industry? Do you have a favourite porn actor or studio that you would like to work with?

Nathan: I’ve been very fortunate to have been offered more work with MAP and I can’t wait to start shooting again. However I hope that in time I will be able to work with one of the major studios in the USA. I’ve learnt not to plan things too far ahead. I just always give my best and know better and bigger things will be on the horizon.

If you asked me eight months ago if I’d be where I am now, I would have said you are mad, but doors have opened for me and I feel like I’ve got a big bunch of keys now. Who knows what lies behind the next door? It’s all very exciting. I’ll not start rambling off long lists of porn star names, but there are quite a few guys I wouldn’t mind having a tumble in the hay with. MAP has very high standards and lol. I can’t say that I’d kick any of them out of bed. That sounds really bad, but have you seen all those gorgeous guys on their website?! If I was forced to choose one, I’d say Jason. WOW! He is so sexy. Then further a field in the USA it has to be Reese Rideout. OMG, he is sooo hot!

GPZ: Is there anything you want to say to your growing fan base?

Nathan: The support and encouraging comments I received is phenomenal. I can’t think of words to describe my appreciation. Thanks a million guys and gals (yes there have been quite a few girlies to!) Without your feedback and encouragement I wouldn’t have come this far. Please keep pushing me harder and keep those suggestions coming. If you want to see more of me in print, there a few coffee table books coming out soon which I will be featured in. Dylan Rosser has his UK book launch for RED in October, then there is also MAP‘s book READY TO PLAY and I have a few submissions for BEAUTIFUL VISION which hopefully will not end upon the cutting room floor. In the spring 2010, I’ll also hopefully be featured in Mark Henderson‘s next book, after the success of his first, HOUSEHOLD IDOLS. I’ve also worked on projects for David Vance, Mark Jenkins and Louis LaSalle, so keep an eye out for them. I will always do my best to be at these book launches, and will be so happy to meet some of you there, wherever that might be.
