Exclusive interview with ROCCO GIOVANNI

GayPornZoom: Hi Rocco, first of all thanks for taking the time to answer our questions. Let’s start with a simple question, how did you get involved in to the porn industry?
Rocco Giovanni: Well it was always something that I wanted to do, and tried to do since I was 18. I got a lot of rejection because of my look, smaller built, heavily tattooed, etc. But then in 2008 I shot with acclaimed award winning photographer Justin Monroe, right around the time he was getting ready to release his first book “Down The Rabbit Hole”. The images he shot were incredible, and they garnered a bit of attention, so I sent off a bunch of shots to various companies, and Raging Stallion picked me up for one of teir projects being directed by Jake Dekard. Now here I am!
GPZ: Ink Stain is a very hot movie and you have Ricky Sinz as a scene partner. Were you nervous in front of the cameras? Tell me more about the shooting!
Rocco: Nervous… not really. I always do a lot of research about the projects I get involved with, so I wasn’t too nervous. I knew that Ricky and I had a few things in common to talk about if I needed to pull that out of my hat. Once on set it was perfect. Everyone was more than amazing and I was made very comfortable.
The shooting was fast, way faster than I had imagined it would be. I was prepared for a whole day or two day thing and it all happened in about 6-7 hours give or take. I think we enjoyed ourselves, everyone. And I clowned around a little. I worked hard and made sure that Jake got the shots he needed and wanted, so it all went, like I said, a lot faster than I expected.
I’m greatful that that was my first scene with a big company, and I’m very proud of it.
GPZ: Do you watch your own scenes? If yes, what comes into your mind when watching it?
Rocco: I watch in fast forward. It’s surreal to me! I will say that my right arm, which is tattooed with images of Madonna… the air time it got impressed me. Other than that, when I would slow it down I took notes. Do this again next time, don’t do this, arch your back more, don’t put your head down, etc.
GPZ: Do you have a favorite porn studio or porn actor that you would like to have a scene with?
Rocco: I really like Raging Stallion, and I like the other bigges too, Hot House sticks out to me right now, Falcon is always iconic, but I’m not the iconic Falcon pretty boy. Actors… uumm Trevor Knight I know personally and would love to shoot with him. Blake Riley, Scott Tanner, Logan McCree, RJ Danvers I have the strangest crush on and would love to work with him sometime. Rob Romoni has sparked my interest. I get to work with Francios Sagat tomorrow and that is a dream come true. Damien Cross is also on the top of the list.
And though he’s not an actor, but a director, I would love to work with Chi Chi LaRue… plus we share a love of Prince!
GPZ: Do you get noticed when you are out & about?
Rocco: Sometimes, but not often. I live in Ohio, so they know me more for being a stripper. Well they know me for being a stripper with a bull whip, which I use sometimes in shows. But for the movie. Not so much yet! They might more since I did “Cocktails with Pornstars” last night in the West Hollywood bar “Mickys”. So slowly but surely I’m sure it will happen and I’ll become more recognizable.
GPZ: Is there someone special in your life at the moment?
Rocco: Why yes, yes there is! I just texted him actually!
GPZ: What are your interests outside of porn?
Rocco: I read a lot. and when I say a lot, I really mean A LOT! Like four or five books at a time! I workout a lot as well. My day job is actually a group fitness instructor so that keeps me busy. And in that field there is always something more to know, there’s always learning, and I love that.
I watch a lot of movies, naturally horror movies are my favorite.
And tattoo collecting! I do a lot of that!
Other that I’m really quite boring if you believe that.
GPZ: What is your best and worst quality?
Rocco: Best is that I always want to learn. Worst… I have several. I’m not very patient, I’m quick to judge and slow to forgive. I’m not very thrifty either… but I’m working on that.
GPZ: Which is the funniest thing that happened while shooting?
Rocco:There was a situation with Ricky wearing a hat… Nothing is shot in order and I remembered that he had a hat on at the beginning of the scene and I just kinda blurted out “Wait… stop… the hat! we need the hat! People will notice he’s not wearing the hat!”
GPZ: What’s next for you, any upcoming movies?
Rocco: Right now I am in my room for the LA Zombie project being directed by Bruce laBruce. There’s a ton of guys in it, big names. All the info is at www.lazombie.com After this I don’t know. Hopefully more work, we’ll see.
GPZ: Finally, is there anything you would like to say to your fans? Where can they meet you?

Fans can meet me most Friday nights at Axis Night Club in Columbus, Ohio. I’m usually in the show with two other boys and one of the most amazing queens and show hostesses EVERE, Alexis Stevens. I do other projects there as well, like a big show with Alexis on September 19th as a back up dancer and choreographer.
So until I move out to LA that’s where I’m stationed!
